      Celebrating the upcoming 70th anniversary of Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita on September 15th, 2025, Vintage is re-issuing all of Nabokov's 21 books with complete new covers designed by The Paris Review art director, Na Kim.

      Kim’s designs blend vivid, tactile elements—thick paint strokes, pure colors, sunbursts, and melting clouds, with references to the author’s archival correspondence requesting “rough texture paper” and “no girls” on the cover.

      “I want pure colors, melting clouds, accurately drawn details, a sunburst above a receding road with the light reflected in furrows and ruts, after rain. And no girls ... There is one subject which I am emphatically opposed to: any kind of representation of a little girl.”

      The first four redesigned editions are now available wherever Vintage titles are sold.

      More redesigned titles are slated for release soon, eventually covering his entire backlist under the Vintage imprint.

      This aesthetic reintroduction offers both longtime fans and new readers a vivid entry into Nabokov’s rich literary world.
